Capture and Extraction

E-mail capture and extraction operates on both internal and external e-mail – not limited to SMTP traffic only, thereby substantiating that all e-mail communications are captured to meet specific compliance regulations. Messages from multiple and differing e-mail servers may be stored in the same archive, and mail servers can be configured to capture all e-mails processed through the server, or limited to group lists or individual mailbox accounts.

Using highly configurable options, schedule-based extraction from mail servers is based on time periods to capture messages, minimizing the need for additional support and network infrastructure, and minimizing any impact on the mail servers. The extraction of e-mail header information (To, From, Cc:, Bcc:, Time and Date, and Subject) is used for basic indexing and is also completed at this stage.
