New partnerships with local experts deliver records compliance management best practice and solutions to mainland businesses
Beijing — 13 July 2006 — AXS-One Inc. (AMEX : AXO), a leading provider of high performance records compliance management software solutions, today urged enterprises in China to view compliance and governance not simply as an ad-hoc activity, but in terms of real business issues.
Addressing the 2nd Annual Internal Control & Business Risk conference in Shanghai, China, AXS-One Director, North Asia, Kathleen Phillips, outlined the costs and risks organizations incur by considering compliance as a one-off project activity, rather than integrating compliance into all business processes.
With China 's economy rapidly growing domestically and in relation to the global market, organizations in China must ensure they implement the appropriate technology to manage information across the enterprise, in response to internal policies and external regulatory requirements, such as Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel II.
AXS-One has announced strategic partnerships with two Chinese IT firms, Bayshore Consulting and Services, Ltd., a Beijing-based provider of IT services, primarily in the financial services sector, and Geong, a leading Chinese provider of enterprise content management solutions out of Beijing, to enable enterprises throughout the country to adopt international best practice in this area.
According to Phillips: “It is imperative that businesses in China realize that management, storage and security around digital data is a core component of the business strategies associated with attaining good governance and compliance. Exercising good governance and compliance is critical to growing China businesses successfully against the backdrop of the international economy, by instilling confidence in employees, partners, customers, shareholders and investors.”
Phillips continued: “Mainland China organizations are increasingly operating in a very challenging regulatory environment. The world class service capabilities of Bayshore and Geong combined with AXS-One 's integrated software platform for digital data archiving and lifecycle management now enables organizations to develop and enforce appropriate policies to manage, store, archive and safeguard the integrity, security and privacy of all electronic records, while enjoying reduced infrastructure costs.”
Mr. L.V. Ning, Bayshore's Deputy General Manager said, “Our aim is to provide customers in China with increased service options of international standards and quality. As a result of the service offerings we have delivered for major banks in the past few years, we have earned ourselves a solid reputation in the China service market. Working with AXS-One will help us continue to deliver exceptional service quality, strict service disciplines, in-depth technical and industry experience, outstanding professional standards; and customer-focused service mentality as we help our customers manage their corporate compliance issues."
Mr. Jason Zhu, Vice President at Geong added, “Seeing first-hand the expansion of the Chinese economy, as IT solutions providers ourselves, our clients across the country are recognizing the increasing need to manage content from initial creation to final archive. This is why we have partnered with AXS-One to offer the most comprehensive, end-to-end content lifecycle management solutions so we can help our customers setup corporate-wide governance, from both the business and IT perspectives, and then manage their corporate compliance issues and legal risks.”
In a recent survey of CIOs across Asia Pacific, compliance was identified as the number one objective for the coming year. AXS-One 's flagship product, AXS-One Compliance Platform™, is a single, scalable platform that enables organizations to manage growing volumes of disparate electronic records. This includes e-mail and instant messages, SAP output, desktop documents, images and other digital records. All records are managed according to corporate records policies from initial capture and indexing through archiving, retention, search and ultimate destruction – addressing corporate governance, legal discovery and regulatory compliance as well as operational efficiency. Patent-pending search technology enables organizations to respond quickly and accurately to the growing pressures of e-discovery and litigation support.
Business benefits of the AXS-One Compliance Platform include operational cost reductions, storage optimization, performance improvements, and compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, resulting in improved governance and transparency.
