North Fork Bank Selects AXS-One With Sun Microsystems For Extensive Records Compliance Management Implementation

Market-leading AXS-One Compliance Platform to be implemented at U.S. bank-holding conglomerate to meet broad requirements for content management, records compliance and legal discovery

RUTHERFORD, N.J. Nov. 29, 2005 – AXS-One Inc. (AMEX: AXO), a leading provider of high-performance records compliance management software solutions today announced a major win with North Fork Bancorp, the 16th largest bank holding company in the U.S.. The deal, which was recognized as revenue in AXS-One’s third quarter, resulted from AXS-One’s partnership with Sun StorageTek and calls for AXS-One to provide a comprehensive information lifecycle management, records compliance and legal discovery solution to North Fork Bank.

“Our goal in this project is to address a broad range of issues associated with electronic data, from traditional content management to e-mail compliance and corporate governance,” said Amir Saeed, vice president of network applications, North Fork Bank. “The AXS-One technology we'll be implementing not only meets all those requirements but also delivers a comprehensive return on investment and quantifiably provides great value.”

While the full package of software and services is designed to help North Fork Bank effectively manage all content types, it specifically enables optimal efficiencies in two critical areas: meeting industry regulations and compliance standards, and minimizing the costs and effort involved in legal discovery matters. North Fork Bank's implementation plan, which includes both AXS-One Compliance Platform 3.5 with Rapid-AXS and AXS-One Retention Manager, aims to address challenges involved in putting legal holds on business records that are part of litigation efforts, better manage costs associated with growing volumes of e-mail and manage the lifecycle of electronic records.

“We're privileged to be given the opportunity to work with North Fork Bank on this project, which perfectly complements our recent record of customer wins and partnership agreements,” said Bill Lyons, CEO of AXS-One. “Compliance and legal discovery represent critical issues for every company, and we believe our technology, combined with the professional services offered by partners such as Sun, are exactly what the market needs to effectively manage these issues.”

Sun Microsystems currently licenses the AXS-One Compliance Platform and integrates it as a key component of the Sun Compliance and Content Management Solution, a customer-ready system built around Sun's portfolio of storage and compliance products, its client solutions organization and the Solaris Operating System. Sun Microsystems has worked closely with AXS-One on a range of features and functionality to ensure that the full offering seamlessly provides existing and future customers with a single, scalable framework that can archive and manage all electronic records, including e-mail, while addressing storage, compliance, and content management challenges.

“At Sun Microsystems, we have a long record of working with innovative partners to offer the best possible package of technology and professional services to each prospective customer, said Gary Zasman, director, Sun Data Management Group Information Lifecycle Management Solutions. “Our arrangement with AXS-One, which offers a broad range of business services and technologies, fits very well into that tradition.”
