Strengthen AXS-One's Position as Industry Standard for Electronic
Records Delivery Solutions in the UK and Europe
AXS-One, Inc. (AMEX: AXO), a leading provider of records
compliance management solutions, today announced that its UK
subsidiary has signed three-year contracts with First Choice, My
Travel, Thomas Cook, and TUI to provide a hosted service for the
electronic delivery of confirmation invoices and related booking
documents to UK travel agents. These four organizations are the UK's
largest vacation tour operators and account for nearly 50 percent of
all passenger bookings made by Civil Aviation Authority
(CAA)-regulated UK vacation companies.
UK tour operators offering vacation packages that include air
travel must hold an Air Travel Organizer's License (ATOL) issued by
the CAA as a means of providing financial protection to customers.
In 2003 AXS-One worked closely with the CAA, ATOL-bonded tour
operators and travel agents to design an electronic invoicing system
that meets the requirements of all parties. The authorization issued
to AXS-One in 2003 by the CAA, allows UK tour operators and travel
agencies to transform their paper based invoicing processes to
electronic invoicing systems, reducing operational costs for all
concerned. The system, hosted by AXS-One, centrally manages the
delivery of invoices on both a next day and real time, point-of-sale
basis, and provides a central archive of documents for six
years.
Starting in early November 2004, the four major tour operators
will use AXS-One's AXSPoint(R) electronic document system to deliver
invoices and related booking documents to their travel agent
customers. More than 25 million invoices are issued by CAA-regulated
vacation companies each year and are currently delivered by surface
mail to approximately 7,500 UK travel agents. With the AXSPoint
system's ability to deliver and present these records electronically
and make them available online, these companies can substantially
reduce their processing and delivery costs, streamline operations
and achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction.
