AXS-One Transports Truckline Into The New Age of Online Invoice/Statement Delivery; AXSPoint Travel Technology Leverages Existing IT System Infrastructure Yielding a Fast ROI

RUTHERFORD, N.J., Jan 28, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- AXS-One (AMEX: AXO), a global provider of e-business solutions, has signed a contract with the Truckline division of BAI SA, a market leading freight ferry company west of Dover in the United Kingdom, to install an Internet-based invoicing statement using AXSPoint(TM) Travel technology.

This will automate the whole process of Truckline issuing some 2,000 invoices monthly and resolving queries with its 1,000 freight customers.

At a time when the transport sector as a whole is facing difficult trading conditions and pressure on the bottom line, Truckline is leading the freight industry by installing the AXSPoint Travel solution for invoice delivery. The AXSPoint Travel solution is easy to install and integrate into Truckline's existing IT infrastructure, with no impact on the original back office software.

Jon Clarke, Truckline's UK freight director, said, "The benefits of an Internet-based invoicing system are clear. The costs associated with issuing paper invoices are eliminated and the whole process of printing, collating, posting and reconciliation is totally streamlined. We are greatly improving our communication with customers as well as enhancing administration. Within 2 months the solution will be made available to our total European customer base and therefore with such a rapid turn around, we expect to see a return on our investment in AXSPoint Travel within a year."

"Our customers were keen to change to an electronic solution and we have responded quickly. As a result, over 75% of freight business will immediately embrace the new system, with the remainder following and coming online progressively." continued Clarke.

Mark Donkersley, AXS-One's UK managing director, said, "The Truckline contract illustrates the ease with which AXSPoint Travel technology can be employed quickly and cost effectively, without impacting existing IT environment and operational application software. Our technology effectively 'bolts onto' legacy systems and solves a very specific business problem. It also gives Truckline the opportunity to take advantage of the benefits offered by the Internet, in this instance, low cost and fast interaction with customers."

With freight, unlike passenger crossings where reservations are made months in advance, bookings are traditionally made much closer to the intended day of travel and invoiced per transaction. With changes to the travel itinerary occurring at any point from booking to the actual return travel dates, utilising a system of electronic dispatch will reduce potential queries. The AXSPoint Travel solution will enable changes to be made instantly and painlessly, reducing Truckline's risk of financial exposure, as well as improving accuracy and accelerating the revenue collection process.

Clarke concludes, "Having seen the success of AXSPoint Travel over the past year within the passenger division of Brittany Ferries, this project has my whole hearted support. I have no doubt that it will be instrumental in maintaining our competitive advantage, and securing Truckline's position as the logical choice of the professional International Transporter."
