BAI Extends Its Use of AXSPoint Travel Solution To Standardize Invoice & Statement Delivery Across All European Ferry Operations

RUTHERFORD, N.J., Jun 13, 2002 --

AXS-One Inc:

Brittany Ferries, Truckline Parent Company Builds on Successful UK Implementation - Delivers Web-Based System to Streamline Statement and Invoice Delivery for 6,200 European Travel Agents Handling 500,000 Bookings Each Year

AXS-One Inc. (AMEX: AXO), a leading provider of e-business solutions, today announced that BAI S.A., the French parent company of AXS-One customer Brittany Ferries, has extended its use of AXS-One's AXSPoint(R) Travel solution to all its ferry operations in Europe.

The AXSPoint Travel solution will now be used in the French, Spanish, and Irish markets to automate the process of invoice and statement delivery and reconciliation for 2,700 local travel agents who make some 100,000 ferry crossing bookings per year. This is in addition to the 3,500 UK agents who make up to 400,000 bookings annually who already have access to the system and the 2,500 organizations who book freight crossings with Brittany Ferries.

Through this expanded implementation, all agents throughout Europe who interact with Brittany Ferries will now have access to an Internet-based system for receiving monthly statements and invoices, providing all BAI ferry operations with a consistent approach to credit control. This deal builds on the success of the AXSPoint Travel projects implemented by Brittany Ferries for the UK travel market in September 2001, and Brittany Ferries' freight adoption of the system in January 2002 for statement delivery in the UK, France, and Ireland.

"Since we deployed the AXSPoint Travel solution in the UK, the benefits to the organization have been considerable. We are recovering cash far faster, our age debtor position has improved by 25-30%, plus we will save a minimum of (pound)35k per annum on postage and stationary alone," commented Stephen Shaw, Brittany Ferries' UK financial director. "Based on our experience and confidence from UK projects, we are now extending our use of AXS-One's software to cover all BAI group operations in Europe so that everyone can reap the benefits. We save time and money with our credit control which obviously makes us more competitive."

Credit controllers in Roscoff, France and Cork, Ireland as well as agents throughout France, Spain, and Ireland will access the system through various local Brittany Ferries web sites along with their UK colleagues. The new project is being piloted in September and will be fully operational in October, with all major European agents using the system by 2003. The AXSPoint Travel solution runs on the Microsoft(R) Windows 2000 operating system and dedicated Dell(TM) PowerEdge servers based in Plymouth, England.

Since the extended system will be bilingual and have bi-currency capabilities, it will be able to handle French, English, Euros, and Sterling currencies, and will support agents who have different payment arrangements, such as check, direct debit, or bank transfer.

The AXSPoint Travel solution automates the process of statement and invoice delivery. Agents see a replica of their traditional paper document online and can interact with the system should there be any queries. According to Shaw, "When we issue statements at the beginning of each month, we are now first in line to be paid. Plus, once the system is adopted by most key agents, we will examine the benefit of running our ledgers more frequently. The software gives us real flexibility in how we manage our cash collection."

"When we announced the AXSPoint Travel deal in September for use by our 3,500 agents in the UK, we set goals for the deployment of the system. In just nine months, over 1,000 UK agents are using the system, which is ahead of what we expected. We are on track for 70% of UK agents to be using the system this year," said John Napton, Brittany Ferries' sales ledger accountant. "If you now add European agents with the extension of the system, this means that the majority of organizations we do most business today with can receive electronic statements and invoices through the Internet."
