AXS-One Cleared for Take-Off by the Civil Aviation Authority

RUTHERFORD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 2003-- CAA Authorization Allows Invoices to Be Processed Electronically with the AXSPoint(R) E-invoicing Solution, Reducing Costs For UK Tour Operators and Travel Agents

AXS-One Inc. (AMEX: AXO), a leading provider of e-business solutions, today announced that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), a UK regulatory body, has confirmed that AXS-One's AXSPoint e-invoicing solution meets its requirements for use by its licensed travel organizers. This authorization allows UK travel tour operators and travel agencies to transform their paper-based invoicing processes to electronic invoicing systems, reducing operational costs for both groups.

UK tour operators offering holiday packages, which include air travel, must hold an Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL) issued by the CAA as a means of providing financial protection to their customers. ATOL holders have previously been required by the CAA to issue hard copy invoices to travel agents and clients. In 2002, approximately 28 million physical invoices passed between UK tour operators and UK travel agents. AXS-One has worked closely this year with tour operators, travel agents and the CAA to design a system of electronic invoicing that meets the requirements of all parties.

"The CAA is aware that the provision of issuing paper invoices imposes significant costs on ATOL holders, but the provision is vital to ensure that customers are properly contracted with their tour operator, and consequently, are financially protected under ATOL," commented David Moesli, Deputy Director, Civil Aviation Authority, Consumer Protection Group. "We recognize that the AXSPoint e-invoicing solution provides licence holders with an opportunity to reduce their operating costs, without compromising the CAA's regulatory requirements. After working for several months with AXS-One, and providing comment on the development of the AXSPoint system, we are pleased to confirm that it meets our requirements for use by ATOL holders."

The AXSPoint e-invoicing solution is based on AXS-One's award winning intelligent self-service technology and is being offered to UK ATOL holders as a hosted service operated from a secure location in London. All confirmation invoices and related documents issued by the participating ATOL holders will be archived in a central vault and delivered electronically to UK travel agents on a same-day basis.

"AXS-One is delighted to be the first vendor to obtain CAA authorization for our travel sector e-delivery solution," commented Mark Donkersley, Managing Director, AXS-One UK. "This announcement is a major endorsement of AXS-One's capability to deliver IT solutions that enhance the business processes between customer and supplier."

Mr. Donkersley continued, "The AXSPoint e-invoicing solution is not simply a more cost effective alternative to traditional surface mail, it is also a key component of good customer relationship management. In anticipation of receiving this accreditation, we have been negotiating with several major tour operators and expect to announce our first contract shortly."

John Rade, Chief Executive Officer of AXS-One, Inc. commented, "This is an important achievement and milestone for us, and provides another endorsement of the reliability and security of our products. This endorsement is a true 'win-win' as it paves the way to new, higher margin, recurring revenue streams for the company and provides our customers with cost savings that emanate into an impressive ROI."

In addition to delivering documents, the AXSPoint e-invoicing solution provides the receiving travel agent with various functions to aid invoice reconciliation, access archived data, and increase the speed and ease of invoice delivery to the end client.
